There are two known editions of this work in the same year distinguished not only by setting of type but by the following: in one edition the "Table des Chapitres" has the page numbers preceded either by "p.", "pag.", or "page"; on p. 158, 1st count, Chapter XI is wrongly headed "Chapitre II."; in the other edition in the "Table des Chapitres", page numbers, except for the first item, are not preceded by "p.", "pag.", or "page"; Chapter XI is headed "Chap. VIII." There are also several variants within each edition; cf. McCoy, J.C. Jesuit relations, 31-37.

John Carter Brown Library copy 1 is what McCoy describes as "First Edition" in which the "Table des Chapitres" has the page numbers preceded by "p.", "pag.", or "page" and on p. 158, 1st count, Chapter XI is wrongly headed "Chapitre II." This copy is similar to McCoy's "Variant One" (cf. McCoy, p. 81-82), but differs in three instances: p. 38, line 27 ends "puis" instead of "nous", p. 58, line 22 ends "le Pere" instead of "le Pere à", and p. 79, line 10 ends "vueil-" instead of "vueille". This copy lacks the "Relation" by Lallemant ([2], 174, [2] p., at end)

John Carter Brown Library copy 2 is what McCoy describes as "First Edition" (see above). This copy is identical to McCoy's "Variant One" (cf. McCoy, p. 81-82), except that the "Relation" by Lallemant is lacking. Instead, this copy is bound with: Relation de ce qui s'est passé dans le pays des Hurons, pays de la Nouuelle France.
