Edition Notes

An abridged version of Lewis Bayley's Practice of piety, translated by John Eliot into the Algonquian language.

Imprint follows the customary practice of giving the year printing was begun. From Eliot's letter of 29 August, 1686, to Robert Boyle, it appears that this edition was not completed and bound until the summer of 1686. Samuel Green was the only printer in Cambridge, Mass., in 1685.
