Arguably, her most important publication was Diosa y Hembra (1976), a reprint of Profile of the Mexican American Woman, which she had written to provide a broad overview of Chicana history. Diosa y Hembra produced a tidal wave of interest and excitement among Chicana student activists and within the women's movement.
