Project I (1991-1994) objectives: collect information on concentrations of nutrients and pollutants, derive accurate estimates of river loads, and establish a basis for biomonitoring. Project II (1995-1998) objectives: gather data on long-term trends in quality of water, compile and assess information on pollution sources, and assess relationships between costs and corrective measures. Project III (1999-2002) and Project IV (2003-2006).
