Is there is a Sardinian who has never said that hospitality is a quintessential feature of their people? Or a Sardinian who has never defined his homeland as "harsh" or "thankless"? Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. For everyone else, it will be difficult not to stop and think long and hard, after this irony-filled trip through clichés, prejudices and false certainties that most Sardinians love to entertain about themselves.
"Sardignolo" is a merciless mirror in which Sardinians will see a reflection of their collective self-image, although some features they do share with the rest of the Italians: nepotism, the absense of meritocracy, and a consuming xenophilia that drives them to delete or neglect their unique identity.
