The history of formation and development of Yakut co-operation during the period since second half of XIX century to the end of 20th of the XX-th century was investigated in scientific research. Origin of the first credit co-operatives and consumer societies in pre-revolutionary Yakutia is described. Historical stages of the first co-operative union lifetime are defined. Economic activities of consumers' and producers' co-operation is analyzed. The role of the co-operation in Yakut economy is estimated.
The research work is intended for scientists, regional historians, post-graduate and students.
