In defence of the acts of the Assemblée coloniale, and particularly of their decree of the 28th of May, 1790, which publically decreed the establishment of "constitutional principles", granting the Assemblée coloniale to control the internal laws of the colony but also the commerce, something not desired by the Assemblée nationale back in France nor the French representatives in Saint-Domingue.
