"Questo è un libro che parla di donne e di cante.Volevo comprendere perché una persona, e quindi un gruppo di persone, riconoscono nel canto (e nel ballo) un veicolo privilegiato per ‘star bene’. Più che illustrare la dimensione sociologica del fenomeno ‘canto’ volevo motivare quella ‘passione’ individuale che porta ogni generazione a cercare nella pratica individuale e collettiva del canto la risposta a bisogni emozionali altrimenti inespressi."
