Avila Sotomayor upholds the Spanish right of succession against French pretensions: he refutes the Vindiciae Gallicae of Daniel de Priezac, which in turn is a reply to Mars Gallicus, written by Cornelius Jansenius under the pseudonym Alexander Patricius Armacanus.
