"The following life of Saint Finbarr was obtained by the most Rev P Hurley, PP of Inchigeela, photographed from the lives of the Irish Saints inthe Burgundian Library at Brussels, written by Michael O'Clery, one of the 'Four Masters'. In a short note at the termination O'Clery states that he wrote this life of St Finbarr in the friars' convent at Cork, in June of the year 1629, and that he took it from a vellum book, the property of Dan Dineen. It is now transcribed and translated by Patrick Stanton, Cork, June AD 1893.
