Perhaps you can relate. I have a bad habit of wanting a copy of my own to refer back to after I really enjoy a public library book. To compound that bad habit, I live thousands of miles from my home library. This means I tote hard copies along in my travels and try to remember and catalog from afar the books waiting at home. That primary school librarian who instilled a love of books and called them our friends created a monster in me, a monster who does not want to part with loves and friends. Cheers to Open Library for giving each of us an address book of those loves and friends, so we may visit them and keep in touch.
