"The original of the Antwerp broadsheet here reproduced is to be found in the University library of Rostock ... Up to the present it seems to be the only copy known ..."
"The text ... [of the broadsheet] consists of two different parts without any connexion whatever. The first part ... to which alone the title 'De novo mondo' belongs, is by far the shorter ..." and appears to be abridged from Vespucci's Mundus novus. The second part "is an account of the voyage to the Indies ... under command of Francisco d'Almeida during ... 1505-06". This account is attributed to Balthasar Springer.
