520 $aÉmile Saint-Lot (1904-1976) was a Haitian politician, lawyer, and journalist. He held several governmental posts such as Minister of Education, Public Health and Labour (1947) and Minister of Labour and Justice (1950). He served as the first ambassador of Haiti to the United Nations, and was a member of the Security Council responsible for voting on the independence of countries. He was also a witness of the 1946 revolt that ousted President Lescot from power and to exile. This book includes an extensive interview with Saint-Lot recalling those events along with several letters by Saint-Lot published in Le Nouvelliste as well as other documents related to this episode in 20th century Haitian political history.
