520 2 $aThe Unger Family Collection documents the professional and personal lives of Frederich Unger (formerly Friedrich or Fritz), a prominent textile businessman from Austria and his wife Ann A. Unger (neé Annie Arens). Other family members who feature prominently in this collection are their two daughters Grete and Gitta Unger, and Ann’s sister, Lise Haas. The bulk of the collection consists of records concerning the major business partners of the following companies: Teesdorf Spinnerei und Weberei, Rolianne, Inc., ETEXCO (or ETC), Danubius, and Dugaresa. Records referring to other professional colleagues, such as business partners, Robert and Victor Anninger, and lawyer Bernard E. Singer, are also contained here.$bThe majority of the collection has been retained in the original order. Please be aware that there will be overlapping of material within the sections, since the Unger Family's businesses were closely connected. For example, records pertaining to one textile factory may be have duplicates located in another series. This was maintained in order to illustrate the complexity of Frederich Unger's professional work as well as to provide an overall view of business practices during the early part of the twentieth century. In addition, files that were grouped as correspondence have remained so, however, there are letters contained within the General Buiness Records as well.
