Transactions of the Linnean Society was first published in 1791 and covered all aspects of natural history. This journal was an important publication for all the leading authors of the time and included early papers by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russell Wallace. The journal continued until 1875 when it was split into separate botany and zoology publications.
