520 $aSkill deterioration results when learned skills are not utilized due to such factors as broken enlistments, assignments outside of one's specialty, or insufficient training periods in the Reserves. The problems of quantifying the expected skill loss due to nonutilization and the training necessary to restore or maintain effective job performance are examined in a literature search and an analysis of the factors involved. Recommendations are made for a short-range, interim management of the problem and for a long-range, definitive study. Data requirements are stressed in the long-range program. (Author)
