520 $aThis concise book of meditations is based on thirteen weekly radio talks given in 1985. Chapter by chapter the author guides the reader through the entire Order of the Mass, explaining the significance, and often the history, of the actions and words. He writes, "The Mass is, in effect, two 'memorials' of mankind's redemption: it is the memorial of the Passover of Israel, celebrated by Jesus, joined with the memorial of the Passover of Jesus, which we celebrate 'in memory of him' as he asked his Apostles to do. Through this memorial we receive today the salvation that was given to us 'once for all' (Heb. 9:27) by Christ through his sacrifice, and we also receive the hope that this salvation will be completed at the end of time."
