500 $aThis, the first edition of a work commonly known as Holinshed's Chronicles, was issued under four variant imprints, each bearing the name of a different bookseller (J. Harrison, L. Harrison, J. Hunne, G. Bishop). According to Pforzheimer, "many copies have been made-up by later owners who combined parts having different imprints." The copy described herein is one such example, with part 1 bearing the imprint of John Harrison, and parts 2 (The historie of Ireland) and 3 (The chronicles of England) bear the imprint of John Hunne.

'The historie of Irelande ... vnto the yeare 1509. Collected by Raphaell Holinshed, and continued till the yeare 1547. by Richard Stanyhurst' has separate title page, foliation and register.
