520 $aIn this book I have dealt only with the prophetic portions of Daniel; the rest is self-explanatory. I am sorry that at times I have had to depart from the usual interpretations, which have never helped our understanding. The nearer we come to the actual events, the greater will be our understanding and the more amazing these prophecies will seem. Daniel is written especially for "the end of days." "The wise shall understand" (Dan. 12:10). When that time comes, these prophecies will have an evangelistic appeal, and "they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever" (Dan. 12:3). - Preface.
