500 $aUSOE Evaluation: "This text is useful for learning how to do accounting work in the application Sage50. As far as a text for teaching the principles of accounting it is lacking. It covers approx 60% of the state standards and objectives for Accounting 1 & 2. I would recomend this text as a suppliment to another accounting text. Many other accounting text include similiar instructions to use other accounting software. --- Each chapter of the book has defined learning objectives, practice application, and end of chapter review activities and questions. The text does not emphasize vocabulary as well as other text in this content area. -- The book itself is not very durable, it is paper back and wear and tear may be an issue. The book does not use many different~colors and information/content of the book is not supported by many visuals. Most of the pages of the book are basic black and white. When pictures are used in the text, they are screen shots of the software. There are no case studies that support the content with real world examples. -- The activities within the text are not engaging and do not catch the attention of todays high school learners. In summary, again this is a fine book to be used as a suppliment to another text, but I would not suggest this as a primary text book."--USOE RIMS 2013 (Utah's Recommended Instructional Material Searchable Database).
