500 $aIn 1935 in Karnak, Egypt, two French Egyptologists discovered a fresco in a pitiful state in the ruins of the memorial temple of Amenhotep (Amenophis) Son of Hapu, the most eminent scholar and scribe of Egypt, Lord Chancellor of Pharaoh Amenhotep III , father of the monotheistic Pharaoh Akhenaten. Recently, 75 years later, the author notes that the text of this fresco is reproduced word for word in the Bible, Genesis 41, when Pharaoh installs the patriarch Joseph in charge of all Egypt. The scribe Amenhotep son of Hapu and Patriarch Joseph are one and the same person. Moreover, the fresco contains a surprising detail that underscores its authenticity. Indeed, in Genesis 41, Pharaoh appoints Joseph çaphenat-paneah (sapnath-panéakh), a name that means nothing in Hebrew, but must be of Egyptian origin. However, the author discovers that çaphenat-paneah is the Egyptian name Amenophis son of Hapu, read backwards, from left to right, Hebrew is read from right to left. So there is absolute agreement between the text of the fresco and that of the Bible...
