Book is divided into two parts, one on canon law and one on civil law. The civil law section has a special t.p.: "Enchiridii juris synopsis posterior: id est, Juris civilis definitiones, distinctiones, et petitiones, per quaestiones claras, breves, et doctrinales, omnes libros ac titulos institutionum imperialium, juxta seriem & ordinem D. Justiniani Imperatoris solidé ac perspicué explanantes & enucleantes, compilatae ab authore B. S."
Author of second part ("B.S.") is sometimes erroneously identified with Stephan Dobner, who published an edition of the Synopsis under his name in 1727. (See note in the record for the 1698 edition in Verzeichnis der im deutschen Sprachraum erschienenen Drucke des 17. Jahrhunderts, VD17 39:155759M.)
