Edition Notes

The 1st unnumbered leaf at end contains "Fautes à corriger"; the 2nd & 3rd, which are conjugate and unsigned & printed on heavier paper than the rest of the book, contain "Errata"; the 2nd list appears to be a revised & extended form of the 1st.

The translation may have been made by Herbert himself; it has been ascribed, probably wrongly, to Marin Mersenne.

First edition in Latin, Paris, 1624.

STC (2nd ed.) suggests Paris as place of publication.

"Not an STC book."--STC (2nd ed.)
