Unfinished coat of arms added at foot of a3r: within a circular green wreath with red penwork flourishes, per fess arg and sable, a pale arg in base. Old ms. inscription on bare wood inside front cover (i.e. after original front pastedown had lifted), “Ex Libris Johannis Borgogelli [?]”; recent stamp “0627” in purple on several leaves.

Contemporary central Italian binding of brown morocco over reverse-bevelled beech boards; covers uniformly tooled in gilt and blind with 2 knotwork medallions joined in a "dumb-bell" design, within concentric frames of repeated tools (stars, scrolls, fronds, and leaves); spine blind-tooled in 5 compartments, each with hatched circles within a diaper pattern; tawed endbands covered with pink and blue thread; edges plain; star-head nails anchoring 4 thongs on front cover; marks of 4 latches on back cover, no longer present; clasps and thongs gone; in case, 35 cm.
