作为"历史学基础课系列教材配套用书"之一,这本""中国史学史资料汇编""主要是与白寿彝先生主编的"中国史学史"相配合而编纂成书的.白先生主编的这本"中国史学史"原名"中国史学史教本",自2000年10月出版以后,被许多高等院校历史学专业用作教材.至2004年11月,北京师范大学出版社将这本教材收入"新世纪高等学校教材",并在当年11月重版.为统一教材的书名体例,把原书的"教本"二字略去,成为现在的"中国史学史"."中国史学史资料汇编"的章节内容,大致按照"中国史学史"而设.每章有简短的"编者导语",对该章内容及所选资料作了简要介绍;每节除了选编的资料外,还列出若干与本节内容相关的研究性"论著目录",提示有兴趣的读者进一步阅读;对所选资料的撰著者或资料本身都作了简单的说明;每章的最后,附有若干"材料解析题".毕竟"资料"与教材本身有差异,故原教材中的个别章节未能按例列出资料,特此说明.
