Viennese artist Stylianos Schicho depicts both animals and humans in his large-scale works as he addresses the phenomenon of ìbeing watchedî in contemporary society. His fragmentary visual worlds voice criticism of issues such as capitalism and consumerism. The observer becomes the observed when scrutinised by the oversized eyes. Or in the words of the artist: "There is always someone missing from the picture and that is the person who is standing in front of it." Schichoís works are a blend of painting and drawing. Fleeting moments are captured and sketched, the expressive faces are brought to life with colour and fine lines. 0Exhibition: Lukas Feichtner Galerie, Vienna, Austria (30.11.2012 – 14.01.2013).
