Trovato Solo

Trovato Solo , Tanto per... , il Desiderio Celato

  • 5.0 (1 rating)

Trovato Solo is a fictional character created by the former Italian writer Giuseppe Sirugo. He is described as a utopian and ambiguous entity, with a personality and behavior that defy conventions. The book is divided into three chapters:
- Trovato Solo: the first chapter bears the name of the book's title. A fictional, utopian character called Trovato Solo takes shape in the writings and describes his own function.
- Tanto per...: in the second part, the author is as negligent as his own health. He writes something, probably a dream disguised in everyday life, in a somewhat vain manner. The narrative can be seen from two perspectives.
- Il desiderio celato: in the third and final chapter, Trovato Solo talks to himself, contemplating a desire and a hidden lack that could have led to the end of an existence. This end is observed with harmony and without others' pain.

As with other stories by the writer, in the writing, the only convergence that unites the paragraphs is rendered by the presence of Trovato Solo. Sometimes he becomes the alter ego of the author Giuseppe Sirugo. And he is only an imagination: this fictional character somehow insinuated himself into the writer's life for a few years and then dissipated into nothingness from March 11, 2020. The name of the fictional character was translated and published in Spanish on December 7, 2020, with the title "Encontrado Sólo".

Relationship with the author
The narrative of the first chapter of Giuseppe Sirugo's book presents a fictional character of the same name, conceived as a utopian imagination that insinuates itself into the writer's life. The character is called Trovato Solo. He is described as an ambiguous figure, which could allude to the author himself, reflecting aspects of his life experiences. Despite some connections with the author, the fictional character should not be confused with a pseudonym. Trovato Solo was born as a fusion and consequence of the concept of Freestyle & write: a way Giuseppe Sirugo used in writing to express himself and beyond the simple reading of books.

The relationship between Giuseppe Sirugo and Trovato Solo is complex and multifaceted. The character seems to be a manifestation of the author's unconscious, but at the same time maintains its own independence and autonomy. This character is a non-existent entity, the fruit of imagination alone. His name is random. Without reference to real people or things. He is described as a lie to be eradicated by his creator, an efficient convenience for the fantasy of his author. Trovato Solo is constantly on the run without knowing the reason and always narrates from the point of view of a single person.

From an introspective point of view, Trovato Solo presented himself to the author as an obsession, something to get away from, but which took over becoming a physical person. Artistically, he can be seen as a portrait or caricature of his creator, accentuating characteristic traits to the point of distortion. The character has the ability to modify the author's texts, becoming the protagonist or supporting him, but also mocking him. The figure of "Trovato Solo" embodies a profound divergence of thought, emerging as a manifestation of the unconscious that challenges social conventions and expectations. This character can be interpreted as a powerful symbol of unconditional creativity and freedom of expression, an entity that manifests as a textual illusion, enriching and deepening the topics treated. Trovato Solo is also a projection of the superficiality of his own creator, an echo of the perspective of an occasional book reviewer.

The topics are the fruit of a haunting idea, almost an obsession, that the author tries to eradicate by writing, but which, paradoxically, takes on the function of an alter ego of Giuseppe Sirugo: from this point of view, Trovato Solo is not just a creation but a substitute. A part of the author that manifests involuntarily. The imaginary character can deal with any theme of his creator. Moving between the real and fiction with the topics, he can also be devoid of a true meaning. He is described as an amusement devoid of perspective. A hallucination perceived as real yet non-existent, or perhaps a blunt chimera that favors the ignorance of its creator and nothing else. However, this ambivalence underscores the complexity of the relationship between the author and his creation: a bond that oscillates between creative liberation and the weight of an idea that feeds itself, reflecting the nuances of the psyche and the artistic process.
