This book was first published (hardcover) by Jonathan Cape Ltd. in 1992 and then by Rupa & Co. in India in 2005. French title: Tourbillon d'Ombres (Editions Ramsay).
The author, Vijay Singh, is a well-known Indian writer, film-maker and screenplay writer living in Paris, France. Some of his other works are the books Jaya Ganga, In Search of the River Goddess (also published in French) The River Goddess (also published in French, Dutch and German) and La Nuit Poignardée (in French), and the films One Dollar Curry and Jaya Ganga (Jaya, Fille du Gange).
