The passions of their past became the foundations of their future ....
Bella Ashton made a mistake two years ago, resulting in her husband leaving England to pursue adventure and a fortune in Canada.
Her husband, Mr Anthony Ashton, made a mistake two years ago which drove Bella to her misguided action.
He has returned to England determined to rid himself of Bella as his wife and to replace her with a gentle and serious young woman who is the antithesis of the glamorous, witty, independent and intelligent Bella.
Throughout much of this story Anthony pursues his desire for a divorce, despite his continuing desire for Bella.
For much of this story Bella continues to plot and plan to put a stop to his wish for a divorce.
This is a Harlequin Regency with a somewhat different plot. The hero is no Duke. The heroine is no simpering idiot. Their mutual tragedy is well described.
It is, however, also somewhat typical of a Harlequin Regency in that the romance is restricted to kisses and the HEA is restricted to the final pages only.
