Cataloged 20170217 jmoschella
Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy bound in ca. 19th-century red goatskin. The title is stamped in gilt on the spine. All text block edges are gilt. Present on the verso of the front free endpaper is a dealer's description from Maggs Brothers and an inscription, "Catal. Abbend[?]", dated January 7th, 1854. Leaf dimensions: 28.3 x 20.9 cm. Leaf a1 is wanting. The initial on [a2] recto is illuminated and historiated. The initial on [a3] recto is rubricated in blue with red flourishes. Many leaves are foliated in an early hand in the upper right margin. The alphabetical index has been annotated, in an early hand, with corresponding page numbers. Acquired by the BPL in December, 1942.
