Engraved t.p., followed by a 2nd with title: La Gerusalemme liberata di Torquato Tasso, con le annotationi di Scipion Gentili e di Giulio Guastavini, et li argomenti di Oratio Ariosti. Both t.p.'s includes ports. (Charles Emmanuel, Duke of Savoy; Tasso). Each of the 20 cantos is preceded by a full-page engraving by Camillo Cungi after Bernardo Castello, and by the argomento in woodcut border. Woodcut head- and tail-pieces, initials.
Signatures: [dagger]⁴ 2[daggers]⁴ A-Q⁸, ²A-D⁸ E⁴, ³A-B⁸ C⁴.
Binding: old calfskin. Spine and edges of boards tooled in gilt.
E.K. Waterhouse's property stamp on front free endpaper verso. Signed "Froullay" on t.p. verso.
