Issued in 3 series of 10 pts. each, with 100 plates in each series.

The plates are signed by various lithographers, including Asmus, Bantelmann, Boutterwek, Harnisch, Herwig, Storch, and others.

The t.p.'s are printed in colors.

Series 3 includes "Erläuterungen" by O. Jahn.

Some plates are individually dated.

GV, 1700-1910, Bd. 159, p. 94-95.

CHMRB copy is incomplete, with plates wanting in each of the three series; approximately 122 leaves of plates are present in total. Some text leaves are also wanting.

Title leaves for V Heft (1828), VII Heft (1829), and VIII Heft (1829) of the first series, and V-X Hefte of the 2nd series (1844), are laid in at the front of the portfolio.

Plates present in CHMRB copy: (series 1) 17-18, 27, 41-50, 50a, 51, 53, 56, 58-80; (series 2) 1-40; (series 3) 11-50.

An unidentified bookseller's printed description of a partial copy of this work is mounted on front paste-down.

Later portfolio of brown quarter-cloth with dark blue paste-paper boards; printed label on front cover; ties (wanting).
