Large woodcut on t.p. of emblem of the Franciscan order, with two arms and a cross, and a surround with Latin inscription "Si habes brachium sicut Deus" etc. (Job.40), and the roman alphabet underneath; p. [5] recto has "Symbolum Apostolorum" set in ornamental border.
According to Icazbalceta (cited by Medina, incorrectly as no. 98), this text was first issued as part of Father Balthasar del Castillo's Cathecismo cenca yn tech ... which has the date of 1683 in the colophon; neither bibliography mentions the separate 1691 and 1693 issues of the Cartilla mayor.
