Edition Notes

"Ad illvstrissimvm ac potentissimum principem Ferdinandum Roman. regem semper augustum atque archiducem Austriae conscripta. Anno 1536."

First published in German (Prognostication auff xxiiii. Jar zükünfftig. Augsburg : Heinrich Steiner, 1536. Sudhoff 17), and in Latin translation by Marcus Tatius Alpinus (Prognosticatio ad vigesimvm qvartum annum duratura. Same imprint. Sudhoff 18). The ill. were woodcuts, rather than etchings as here. Sudhoff suggests that the present ed. may be French, 1560-1580.

Signatures: ãp4s A-Ip4s.

ã1a title; ã1b Marcvs Titivs [i.e. Tativs] ad lectorem; ã2a-ã4b Praefatio; A1a-H4a (printed on rectos only) Figvra I-Figvra XXXII, each consisting of an allegorical ill. followed by prophetic prose; I1a-I3b Expositio brevis Prognosticationis eximii doctoris Theophasti Paracelsi ...; I4 blank.
