Laura Mancinelli

Laura Mancinelli (18 December 1933 – 7 Juy 2016) was an Italian writer, germanist, medievalist and university professor. She is widely known for his 1981 historical novel I dodici abati di Challant (The Twelve Abbots of Challant) and Il miracolo di santa Odilia (The Miracle of Saint Odilia).

Mancinelli also wrote academic texts, children's books, and essays, and edited and translated into Italian books from German, such as “Nibelungenlied” (1972) followed in 1978 by “Tristan” (Gottfried von Straßburg) and in 1989 by “Gregorius” and “Poor Heinrich” (Hartmann von Aue)...
