Birgit Vanderbeke (Dahme, 1956 – Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, 2021) fue una escritora alemana conocida por sus novelas y relatos de tono irónico y crítica social. Nacida en Dahme, creció en Frankfurt tras la huida de su familia de la RDA y, desde 1993, residió en el sur de Francia. Alcanzó gran reconocimiento con Das Muschelessen, obra por la que recibió el Premio Ingeborg Bachmann en 1990.
