Marcelle Bartolo-Abela

MARCELLE BARTOLO-ABELA is a Maltese-American Catholic author and consultant on the intersection of multiculturalism, psychology, spirituality and the political sphere. She is also founder and director of Hope & Life Press. A first-generation immigrant to the United States of America (US) after having lived and worked in Malta for over 25 years, Bartolo-Abela has served as clinician in various hospital, urban community and private practice settings in the Northeast US and Malta, specializing in psychotherapy for late adolescents and adults with a range of psychopathologies and ‘treatment failures.’ She has lectured on psychology and psychotherapy to psychiatry residents, clinical graduate and undergraduate students in the US, UK and Malta, including the Malta Ministry of Health, focusing on the intersection of post-Lacanian clinical practice, multiculturalism and spirituality. Bartolo-Abela has served as consultant to faculty and program managers on the applied intersections of critical and mainstream psychologies; multiculturalism in the clinical provision of psychology and counseling services; and multiculturalism, psychology, and spirituality. She also provided advocacy and consultation on criminalization discourses and violations of free speech rights of healthcare professionals in the well-funded, broad-scope legislative agenda First Malta Then the World.

A revert to the Catholic faith, Bartolo-Abela is the author of several books on Christian spirituality: Who Are You? What is Your Faith? America's 21st Century Alt-Right and Catholic Social Doctrine, A Voice Calling God’s People, Deification of Man in Christianity, God’s Gift to Humanity: Relationship Between Phinehas and Consecration to the Father in the 21st Century; The Divine Family: Experiential Narratives, The Divine Heart of God the Father (2nd ed.), The Icon of the Divine Heart of God the Father: Apologia and Canon; The Warrior-Prince: Saint Michael the Archangel, and Thoughts for the Day: Reflections for the Soul. She is also co-author of Relics of the Saints: January-February. Bartolo-Abela has a Master of Science in Psychology from Springfield College, Massachusetts, with specializations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Multicultural Psychology. She holds the Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methodologies in the Social Sciences from Middlesex University, UK, with specialization in post-Lacanian discourse and thematic analysis. She also holds the Certificate in Catholic Social Doctrine for Professionals from The Catholic University of America. Bartolo-Abela loves icons and at present is a mid-level apprentice in Russian-Byzantine iconography.
