Halldór Laxness

Halldór Kiljan Laxness (23. apríl 1902 - 8. febrúar 1998) var íslenskur rithöfundur og skáld, jafnan talinn einn helsti íslenski rithöfundurinn á 20. öld. Á ferli sínum skrifaði Halldór skáldsögur, smásögur, margar blaðagreinar, samdi ljóð, leikrit, þýddi bækur yfir á íslensku og fleira. Halldór hlaut Nóbelsverðlaun í bókmenntum árið 1955.


Halldór Kiljan Laxness (23 April 1902 – 8 February 1998) was an Icelandic writer and poet, often considered one of the greatest Icelandic writers of the 20th century. During his career, Halldór wrote novels, short stories, many newspaper articles, composed poetry, plays, translated books into Icelandic, and more. Halldór was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1955.
