Ashok Nadkarni

7 May 1942 - 26 March 2009

Qualified as an architect from Mumbai (India). Emigrated to London, UK in 1967 and obtained Post-Graduate Diploma in Town Planning. Worked for well-known London architects on various major projects, including Europe's first and largest 'Jumbo Jet' Boeing 747 hangar, offices and ancillary works.
In 1983 joined Housing Association as Technical Services Manager to build affordable homes for homeless and other needy people until retirement in 2007. It was during this period that Ashok had the opportunity to co-write the
guidance book on Construction (Design & Management) Act for Housing Associations and the construction industry on behalf of the National Housing Federation. Ashok's other contributions were articles for various Construction magazines.
