Ewald Gerhardt

17 May 1947 -

Nacido el 17 de mayo de 1947 en Berlín, ha estudiado Ingeniería, especialidad de Tecnología Física, en esta misma ciudad. Ha estudiado también Biología, especialidad en Botánica, en la Universidad Libre de Berlín. Su tesis doctoral fue "Monografía mundial del género Panaeolus". Es investigador contratado del Museo de Botánica de Berlín. Autor de un gran número de trabajos micológicos especializados, y de diversos libros de divulgación sobre hongos, publicados en la editorial BLV de Múnich, es también un apasionado de la fotografía de hongos.
