Ignacio Martínez Mendizábal (Madrid, 2 de septiembre de 1961) es un paleontólogo español. Doctor en Biología y autor de numerosos artículos en las más prestigiosas revistas científicas del mundo, como Nature y Science, y de libros de ensayo y divulgación junto a Juan Luis Arsuaga; recibió en 1997, junto con el equipo del que forman ambos parte, el Premio Príncipe de Asturias por sus hallazgos sobre la evolución del hombre en el los yacimientos de Atapuerca.
Ignacio Martínez Mendizábal (Madrid, September 2, 1961) is a Spanish paleontologist. He holds a PhD in Biology and is the author of numerous articles in the world's most prestigious scientific journals, such as Nature and Science, and of essay and popular science books with Juan Luis Arsuaga. In 1997, he and the team they are both part of received the Prince of Asturias Award for their discoveries on human evolution at the Atapuerca archaeological site.
