Joseph H. Peck

Dr. Joseph Peck, geboren im letzten Viertel des 19. Jahrhunderts, war einer der ersten Ärzte in jener Wüstenlandschaft von Connecticut, die erst nach 1900 besiedelt wurde. Er hat mehr als zweitausend Kindern auf diese Welt geholfen. Zu seinen Patienten gehörte unter anderen auch ein Stamm von Indianern; und viele Jahre war er Mitglied der staatlichen Gesundheitsbehörde von Utah. Im Alter von sechzig Jahren gab Dr. Peck seine Praxis auf und begann zu schreiben. Er ist der Verfasser zahlreicher allgemeinverständlich geschriebener naturwissenschaftlicher Beiträge in den verschiedensten Zeitschriften, insbesondere der ›Saturday Evening Post‹. Seine Bücher ›Alles über die Frauen‹ (dtv-Band 366) und ›Alles über die Männer‹ standen in den Vereinigten Staaten monatelang auf der Bestsellerliste.
