Ramesh P. Sinha

Obtained his Ph.D. from Patna Univerity, Ramesh P Sinha, also known as RP Sinha and Ramesh Sinha, retired as Professor of Sociology from AN Sinha Institute of Social Studies,Patna. He has taught at the universities of Patna,Magadh and Veer Kunwar Singh. Has been Visiting
Fellow,University of Br.Columbia,Canada, University of Manchester,England. His publications include.. Frail and Weak ( Inst.of Social Research and Action,Patna,1981), The City of Patna,( co authored with Sachchidananda)(Census,Delhi,1979), Social Dimensions of Trade Unionism in India( Uppal,Delhi,1984), Women's Rights:Myth and Reality ( Printwell,Jaipur,1984), Some Problems of Small Scale Industries (Janaki,Delhi,1985), Tradition and Development (Concept,Delhi,1988 ), Education and the Disadvantage( Uppal,Delhi,1989) Dimensions of Indian Education ( Har Anand,Delhi,1994 ), Inequality in Indian Education, (Vikas,Delhi, 1997 ), Tribal Bihar: Structural Constraint s in Indian Education, ( Har Anand, Delhi, 2000). He has contributed research papers in academic journals of international repute,besides contributing regularly to national and international seminars and conference. Sinha has been Research Member of International Sociological Society, Symposium Organiser and Chairperson, International Union of Anthropological and Ethnologial Assn, was invited to chair Sessions in Bologna,Italy, School of Social Reasearch,Frankfurt, has been Adjunct Professor,NUS,Singapore. Currently he is associated with IGNOU International Study Centre, Sharjah,UAE.
