Prateek Pattanaik is an independent researcher & Odissi classical musician. MSc (Physics), MA (Odia). He is a disciple of Odissi music (vocal & instrumental - Bina) under Gurus Brundaban Khandual and Pt Ramarao Patro, in the sisya-parampara of the early 20th-century maestro Acharya Tarini Charan Patra. He has written and delivered talks on the culture of Odisha, with special focus on the Jagannatha temple tradition and musicology, at several prestigious venues. For his groundbreaking field research & documentation of rare art forms of Odisha and his specialised efforts in preserving ancient Odissi music compositions, he has received appreciation from various quarters, including the Chief Minister of Odisha.
