Studied at the Universities of Panjab,Leeds,Surrey and Birmingham. He was lecturer in economics at Coventry University before joining Guru Nanak Dev University,Amritsar as Associate Professor in 1975. Served there as Professor of Economics,Chairperson,Dean,Faculty of Economics and Business. In addition to being a UGC Visiting Professor at Punjabi University,Patiala,has been Consultant to World Bank,Ministry of Industrial Development,Central Water Commission,New Delhi. He has been a member of Punjab State Planning Borad besides a member of Panel of Indu strial Economists,Planning Commission of India. At present,he is Honorary Visiting Research Fellow,Coventry Business School,Coventry University.
