Subject: Pleasant light romance set in Dutch Caribbean during tense political times.
Subject: Pleasant light romance set in Dutch Caribbean during tense political times.
An American heiress must choose between suitors present and off-screen. Amusing dialogue, contrived but interesting plot devices. Many engaging, endearing, and well-drawn characters. One or two touches of unfortunate era-typical racism. "The Unspeakable Perk" himself is a strange, uncouth bug-eyed entomologist with a unsettling mystery. A quick fun read.
