Subject: PETER AND ALEXIS - A Russian Story
Subject: PETER AND ALEXIS - A Russian Story
What can be valued in a book concerning the death of Peter the Great's son Alexis? An account of events? Historical accuracy, as far as that is possible? PETER AND ALEXIS should not be understood as offering such things. It is fiction, not history, an interpretation of history from a point of view inspired and limited by the time when it was written. The book tells more about the time when it was written than the time about which it was written. That is what is worthwhile.
