Attributed to Pieter de la Court by Winkler Prins' encyclopaedie
A translation, by Madame Johanna Dorothea van Zoutelande-Lindenaer, of parts of the author's: Aanwijsing der heilsame politieke gronden en Maximen van de republieke van Holland, first printed Leiden and Rotterdam, 1669, which was an enlarged version of the author's Interest van Holland, first printed Amsterdam, 1662. Johan de Witt probably wrote two chapters of the memoires. Cf. Winkler Prins' geïllustreerde encyclopaedie
Also printed in French in the Hague by H. van Bulderen in the same year
Includes references to commerce in the West Indies, the whale and cod fisheries, the salt trade, and Puritans in the English colonies
