Subject: Short but edifying book on horses
For horse lovers, this very short book is full of fascinating facts about the history and habitats of horses.
I found the comparison of them with camels and elephants especially interesting: camels are delicate and don't swim, 50,000 perished in the Afghan-Anglo wars; riding an elephant is a severe exercise-- equal to riding in a coach without springs on a "corduroy road."
