Title from caption
Second soneto on p. 8 is dated: Anno 1824
The only extant copy is held by the Universidade Católica Portuguesa; its record in Porbase does not suggest a place of publication other than Portugal but gives a publication date of 1824
The brief biographical sketch on p. 1-3 gives an account of the life and travels of one Major Pimenta, a military officer who was sent into exile to the Portuguese colony of Angola in 1824 on the orders of the Conde de Rendufe and the Conde de Subserra. The pamphlet has several letters from Major Pimenta from Luanda to John VI and to the captain general of the colony of Angola which were printed in the Espectador brasiliense and the Correio dos annuncios. In 1826, Major Pimenta was freed and he sailed back to Portugal. By the time this pamphlet was published, he was buried in Lisbon
